Cookie Policy

As with all platforms, Art&sofT S.r.l.s. Unipersonale logs IP addresses and uses cookies and similar technologies that enable recognition and provide us with information about how users access our Platform. Thanks to this information, we can personalize and improve the experience on our platform.

Below is more information about how we use cookies and similar technologies.

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text fragments, usually consisting of letters and/or numbers, sent by the website visited and stored by software (e.g., a web browser) installed on the device used by the user for browsing. Cookies are then sent back to the website upon the user’s subsequent visits.

Cookies allow storage of information regarding a user’s visits to a website and represent a very useful technology because they, for example, enable websites to function more efficiently and provide useful information to website managers. Without cookies, or similar technologies, websites would have no way to “remember” information about visitors, such as how many items the user placed in their shopping cart or whether they logged in or not.

Cookies can be classified based on:

– duration: session or persistent cookies;
– origin: first-party or third-party cookies;
– purpose: technical, analytical, or profiling cookies.

Cookies that expire at the end of a browser session (usually when the user closes the browser) are called session cookies and are useful, for example, to remember a user’s purchase order or for security purposes, such as accessing internet banking or webmail accounts. Cookies that are stored for a longer period (between sessions) are called persistent cookies and are useful, for example, to remember user preferences or to offer targeted advertising.

First-party or third-party refers to the website or domain installing the cookie. First-party cookies are set directly by the website the user is visiting, while third-party cookies are set by a different domain, for example when the website incorporates elements from other sites, such as images, social media plugins, or ads.

It’s important to note that the functions commonly performed by cookies can also be achieved by similar technologies, including features that allow device identification to analyze site visits. This policy applies to any technology that stores or accesses information on the user’s device. These include HTML5 local storage, Local Shared Objects (also known as Flash cookies), and fingerprinting techniques. In particular, device fingerprinting involves combining several pieces of information to uniquely identify a specific device.

Examples of information that device fingerprinting may detect, associate, or infer include:

– data derived from device configuration;
– data inferred from use of specific network protocols;
– JavaScript;
– HTTP header information, clock information;
– installed fonts;
– browser plugins.

These elements can also be combined with additional data, such as IP addresses or unique identifiers, etc.
From now on, whenever cookies are mentioned, this definition also includes other similar technologies.

What are the purposes of the cookies used on this site?

Depending on their purpose, the cookies installed on this site are categorized as technical cookies, analytical cookies, and profiling cookies.

Technical cookies are necessary for the website to function because they enable features that facilitate user navigation, such as allowing access to your profile without needing to log in every time, or saving the language preference for browsing the site.

Technical cookies are considered strictly necessary because storing this information is essential to provide a service requested by the user. Therefore, technical cookies cannot be disabled, and their installation does not require prior user consent (according to Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code).

Analytical cookies, which may be first- or third-party, are installed to collect information about how the website is used. In particular, they are useful for statistically analyzing site access or visits and allow the Controller to improve the site’s structure, navigation logic, and content. The information collected (including the masked IP address) is used for statistical analysis to improve site usability and potentially make the content more interesting and relevant to user preferences.

Analytical cookies are not necessary for the website to function. However, since the IP address is masked, their installation does not require user consent.

Profiling cookies, which may also be first- or third-party, are used to track the user’s navigation, analyze their behavior for marketing purposes, and create user profiles based on their tastes, habits, preferences, etc. This makes it possible to deliver targeted advertising messages based on user interests and online preferences. Social cookies are also considered profiling cookies.

These cookies can only be installed on the user’s device if the user has given their consent.

How can cookie preferences be managed?

When first accessing any page of the Site, a banner is displayed containing a brief notice and a cookie preference management panel/a button allowing the user to accept all cookies. The user may select/deselect specific categories of cookies. Consent to use cookies is recorded through a dedicated “technical cookie.”

Users can also express their cookie preferences via the settings of the browser they use. By default, most web browsers are set to accept cookies automatically, but users can modify these settings through their browser preferences, allowing them to delete/remove all or some cookies or block or restrict cookie use for specific websites.

Disabling/blocking cookies or deleting them may impact the optimal use of certain site areas or prevent certain functionalities, and affect third-party service performance.

The cookie settings depend on the browser used. Below are instructions and links to cookie management guides for major desktop browsers:
